Our Team

FRRR has a dedicated team of full-time, part-time and contract staff, most of whom work from FRRR's office in Bendigo, Victoria, although our Program Manager for Natural Disasters in Queensland and Northern New South Wales is based in Brisbane.

The team is passionate about the service they provide and are driven by the frequent and inspiring success stories from rural, regional and remote communities.

Lisa Mahon - Program Support Officer

Lisa joined FRRR in 2009. Lisa sits on the Victorian Organic Industry Committee and is active locally with the SES and the Dunolly Preschool Community Garden.

Sylvia Perez - Administration Officer

Sylvia joined FRRR in 2011 as Administration Officer and is often the first port of call for those contacting FRRR. Sylvia previously worked in the Mining and Recruitment industries and has a strong Customer Service background. 

Sarah Berriman – Program Support Officer

Sarah joined FRRR in August 2013 as a Program Support Officer, and has a background in similar roles in the not-for-profit sector. Sarah has been a community volunteer for many years in the conservation field, assisting with everything from surveying mammals, to weed control and revegetation.

Alexandra Gartmann – Chief Executive Officer

Alexandra joined FRRR in April 2011. Having lived in small communities in NSW, WA and Victoria, she is familiar with the challenges and opportunities of rural and regional Australia and is passionate about creating opportunities for prosperity. Alexandra holds a number of roles including Chair of the CSIRO Sustainable Agriculture Flagship Advisory Council, member of the National Rural Advisory Council, member of the Australian Landcare Council, Board member of Rural Finance, member of the Victorian Agriculture Advisory Council (VAAC) and member of the La Trobe University Bendigo Regional Advisory Board. 

Sophie Burke - Program Manager: Small Grants, Corporate Partnerships

Sophie has many years’ experience in the philanthropic sector, having worked with the Bjarne K Dahl Trust, Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network and Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation.

Annie Wright - Program Manager: Qld/NSW Natural Disaster Recovery

Annie joined FRRR in August 2012. She was directly impacted by the Qld 2011 floods, and has worked in a number of corporate and community roles. Annie brings a unique set of skills and knowledge gained over 20 years of experience in business, communications and project management.

Jeanice Henderson - Program Manager: Education, Arts and Ageing

Jeanice joined FRRR in 2010, and oversees various grant programs focused on small communities. Previously, she worked in Local Government for nine years in Heritage Planning and Community & Cultural Development. 

Natalie Egleton - Program Manager: Vic Natural Disaster Recovery and Corporate Partnerships

Natalie has worked with numerous not-for-profits in program evaluation, undertaking research analysis and developing business plans. She was the fundraiser and relationship manager with Evolve (Typo Station) for many years, and also spent some time at ANZ.

Hannah Jakab - Program Support Officer

Hannah joined FRRR in June 2010 as a grants assistant for the RRR natural disaster recovery program. She currently coordinates the STEPS program.

Leeanne Dell - Executive Assistant

Leeanne joined FRRR in 2008 as Executive Assistant to the CEO.  She has more than 30 years’ experience as a Private Secretary and Executive Assistant in the medical, legal, banking, private and not-for-profit sectors.

Andrew Long - Company Secretary

Andrew joined FRRR in 2003, bringing more than 25 years’ experience in senior management roles in the not-for-profit, accounting, banking, trustee and finance sectors, including involvement in the development and management of philanthropic trusts and foundations. 

Liz Warne - Program Support Officer

Liz joined FRRR in 2013 as a Program Support Officer. Liz juggles her days between FRRR and a local bank. Previously, Liz worked in the agriculture industry and she has a strong background in customer service and in working with community groups.

Neriman Kemal - Program Manager, Seeds of Renewal

Neriman joined FRRR this year, having previously worked in communications and community engagement.  Most recently she was the communications manager for a renewable energy research trial across regional Victoria. She is passionate about social justice and giving a voice to local communities.
